Terry and Pam Deans

Terry and Pam Deans are joint recipients of this silver heart as they are two people, always intertwined as one, and been active and respected members who have jointly supported our cause since 2011. Although Dragon Boating has been a big part of Pam and Terry’s early involvement they have both made large contributions and helped fellow cancer survivors.

Both have performed various roles over many years at our Brave Hearts Community Dragon Boat Regattas where Pam coordinated volunteers and Terry helped marking racing lanes with buoys and volunteered on the Starting Pontoons.

Pam and Terry wear the BH’s uniform with pride. They have proudly represented Brave Hearts at numerous regattas and even joined other paddlers in Venice and in Kununurra for events proving you can participate in amazing experiences despite having experienced cancer.

They both have always attended and supported as many BHMINC events as possible. Terry has on many occasions been the lone male attendee at pink events such as the Nth Albury Netball and Football Pink days.

Both have held positions on our committees – Pam was a valued community member of Brave Hearts on the Murray Inc Committee and Assistant Coordinator of the Dragon Boat Club. Terry was the Property Manager for the Dragon Boat Club in early years. And both were regular members of our Community Regatta organising committees.

This couple have always epitomised our 3 values of love, courage and support and constantly go out of their way to support their fellow members and promote our cause. I have no hesitation in awarding them with one of this year’s silver hearts.
